FACTS WHAT DOES HealthCare Associates Credit Union DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

If you are a new member, we can begin sharing your information 45 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer our member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

What we do
How does HealthCare Associates Credit Union protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. 
How does HealthCare Associates Credit Union collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you:
  • open an account or apply for a loan
  • use your credit or debit card
  • pay your bills or make deposits or withdrawals from your account

We also collect your personal information from others such as, credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business — information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else? Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • HealthCare Associates Credit Union does not share with our affiliates.
Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. 

  • HealthCare Associates Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners include, insurance companies, direct marketing companies and other types of financial product and service companies.

HealthCare Associates Credit Union (HACU) is committed to protecting the privacy of members and other visitors to the HACU website. HACU has adopted the following website Privacy Policy:

When you visit or site, we gather information including page request (URL request), time of your visit, your IP address, operating system, web browser software, and any cookies which were set during a previous visit to our site. The information is collected to improve your overall credit union experience. We also use the information to track site usage and compile statistics. This helps us improve the site so that you will find it more useful, informative and enable customized promotions you may be interesting in. IP address information is not distributed to third parties.

Personal information contained in email sent to HACU by members and non-members may be used by the Credit Union's Staff to answer questions, to follow up on suggestions or complaints, or to improve the level of service HACU provides. Please be advised that email may not be secure against interception by unauthorized individuals.
